of Faction The New World. 2. Purpose of Faction Disablity Insurance i) To explore and colonise the mysterious Lost Continent. ii) To create a hidden base of operations from which to strike at the our enemies, namely those factions of an expansionist, anti-crime or tyrannical nature. iii) To be a haven for all those not accepted by other, intolerant societies, and to accept fugitives, cutthroats and eccentrics of all kinds. 3. Membership requirements Our faction is open to anyone with an interest in skullduggery and danger! All members must devote themselves to the construction of the New World, and the downfall of our enemies. Any species may join. 8. Location on Atriana The Lost Continent. 9. Recent history This faction was founded by a group of real-life friends living in Perth, Western Australia, all ardent Atriarch fans. We didn't like the looks of all the factions out there; they all looked the same: democratic society, peaceful, empire-building, anti-crime. Yeah yeah, seen it all before. We wanted a little more danger, so we created the New World. In-game history has not yet been decided upon, however a short storyline detailing Elazair's tragic past will be posted to the web-site (and possibly the Stratics RP forum) soon. 10. Allies and Enemies The New World has no allies; we take orders from no one, and trust no one with our secrets. Our enemies are any faction attempting to expand to the Lost Continent, as well as any society which we deem to have too powerful a hold over its citizens. Such power-hungry and controlling empires include the Karshan Empire and the Shayun. 11. Code of conduct Our society shall be governed chiefly by respect and trust, with a little bit of fear thrown into the mix. Within the New World, all technology and knowledge shall be shared between citizens, and the strong shall aid the weak. No one need ever be destitute. We envision that this will work as a sort of 'honor among thieves'. In addition, we shall be ruled by the Council of Five, comprising a representative of each species and including the Atrios. The Council shall vote on matters of importance to the faction, and the Atrios shall have the casting vote. The Atrios will not have any powers of veto or any powers beyond that of a member of the Council. Within the faction, the highest form of dishonour is treason. Any being found to be selling information or technology to the enemy shall be tracked to the ends of Atriana. 12. Key game features The game design features championed by the New World are- i) Exploration. ii) Thievery and stealth. iii) Combat.
